Theatre
My first musical love has always been the theatre and I've been lucky that I've had opportunities to write and arrange music for several shows over the years.
As an arranger I've specialised in overtures but have also orchestrated whole shows, created bespoke orchestrations for performers and even ghosted for other arrangers.
Here is my current resume of work as arranger, orchestrator, composer and lyricist. And reluctant librettist.

The Canterville Ghost In development
Ever since I first saw this in the Patrick Stewart and Neve Campbell film version of OScar Wilde's play at university I've passionately felt that this is a great romantic and comedic subject for a show. So much so my first draft was part of a submission for the final year of my BA. During Covid I decided to revisit the subject and wrote a number of songs and outlined a libretto drawing on elements of the film and the original novella that was given a partial reading by the Voce! Singers in Doncaster in 2023. After a year away from it to bring a fresh perspective I've begun to revise the the book this year (2025) adding in elements from other adaptions, notabley the John Gielgud version while trying to remain faithful to the original spirit. The remaining key aspects of the score are slated for the end of 2026 and hopefully then carry out a full reading.
Musically the score draws upon a range of sources and gives full rein to the possibilities the story gives. I hope one day my most long term project will see the stage.
The Windflowers In development
A song cycle inspired by Oscar Wilde's poem cycle, this set takes the concepts and general outlines of the poems but updates them to a contemporary setting for voice and piano. Rather than setting the words of Wilde, a perilous activity for any composer I've split the poems into (currently) ten seperate items with new lyrics. At present (september 2025) half of this are complete in draft form and I hope the first full draft will be ready to be given a reading early in 2026.
